Things take a strange turn when the car arrives, but the girls refuse to leave and try to seduce him. It is then that the two young women, Genesis (Lorenza Izzo) and Bel (Ana de Armas), show up at Evan’s doorstep, completely drenched and apparently looking for a house where a party is being hosted.Įvan asks the two girls to come into his home and ensures that they are comfortable before hiring a car for them to go home. As the night falls, it starts raining heavily. Before leaving, Karen tasks her assistant Louis (Aaron Burns) to safely relocate one of her bigger sculptures to an art gallery. He intends to use the time to finish a long-overdue project. Karen and the two children are going away for a short holiday at the beach without Evan as he is still undergoing physical therapy for a shoulder injury he sustained at some point before the film began. Karen is a high-profile artist whose artworks generate a significant portion of the couple’s collective income and sponsor their affluent lifestyle. SPOILERS AHEAD!Įvan is a successful architect living in an expensive-looking, glass house with his wife Karen (Ignacia Allamand) and their two children. The ending, in particular, solidifies the film’s position among the most popular erotic thriller movies. Either way, years after its original premiere, the film continues to inspire much discussion. While many praised Roth’s willingness to depict some very disturbing and previously-unexplored themes, others noted what they perceived as instances of homophobia and racism in the plot. When the film originally came out, the critical responses it received were all over the spectrum. I would say to people to watch it, however not to take it too seriously (its not a classic however I found it fun to watch). They seduce him and uses the footage of the incident to threaten and torture him.

I even had a large at the end when the son says "Daddy Had a Party" The Girls were working with someone (as when there putting the body in the truck they mention him) but who is this person? The girls killed a guy and its obvious it has happened before so why not kill the husband?
KNOCK KNOCK ENDING MOVIE
I like that I left the movie with lots of questions and could make my own theories as to what was going on in the girls heads? Maybe Eli was trying to show us that there is no properly understanding a messed up brain. the girls motives, the girls mental state which went up and down throughout the movie. I liked that we did not know loads of things i.e. However I liked that it was a movie that did not take itself too seriously. I get the bad reviews as it has a bunch of bad acting in a bunch of areas (the wife at the start for instance), and the movie seemed like it has lots of plot holes. Personally I Liked it in a very unusual way. I am not saying this because it's a loose interpretation of the message, this is almost exactly the speech they give at the end of the film for why they did what they did. That moral being, if you are a man, it doesn't matter who you are or how much you love your family, you will cheat and you deserve to have your whole life ruined for it. Honestly, I wouldn't be bothered that much by this had it not been for the bullshit moral thrown in the middle. You never grow to care about anyone or the scenario they are in and the short glimpse of Keanu's life prior to the events was the typical goofy, fun loving father character we get when writers want to make you like a protagonist, but are afraid to give them a real authentic personality. This would be fine if the movie was actually entertaining, but unfortunately it is more boring than anything. Similar premise, but lacks the intellect and ambiguity to be anything more than entertainment. It basically boils down to being a juvenile Hard Candy. The villains are supposed to be fun in a dark humor sort of way, but they jut come off as obnoxious and self-righteous. I feel Keanu was giving it his all, but this is not his territory. I don't know what's worse, the writing or the acting.
